"A Little Book of Inspiration" Book Launch

25 November 2009

Last Wednesday night, 25 November at a Gala affair at the Mooloolaba Surf Club, on the Sunshine Coast, over one hundered guests celebrated the launch of  award-winning photographer Tracy Woolley's Inspire Your Day ~  A Little Book of Inspiration.

Designed to be thought-provoking as well as inspirational, the book is a fusion of memorable quotes and breathtaking photographs.  The natural landscape of Australia is used to inspire reflection and self-improvement.

Tracy Woolley is an inspired Australian national and international award-winning landscape photographer based on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.  She changed her life from a depressed, divorced, single mother working long hours in jobs she hated, to a life where her positive outlook not only keeps her going, but inspires those around her.

Guests enjoyed the balmy sea air, fine music and book signing whilst perusing Tracy's photographic exhibition  of the area.

"Having my book launch at the Mooloolaba Surf Club means more than you'd think, as I was conceived on that beach!" said Tracy. '"This is my home and where most of the photography is taken in the book."

The book has been flooded with praise from photographers and inspirational speakers from both Australia and abroad.

David O'Sullivan, publisher of Photo Review Australia, said that Tracy's positive approach to life was reflected in her photographs. "There's an irresistible optimism in all her images," Mr O'Sullivan said, "from the detail and careful framing of her close up shots, through to her evocative use of sun and sky in the landscape and coastal images."

"Inspiring, refreshing and thought provoking, Tracy's book and its collection of piercing insights and stunning photographs is pure escape. It's a work of brilliance!" said Mike Dooley, bestselling author of Notes from the Universe and teacher in The Secret DVD.

Former Mayor Joe Natoli  said in his speech on the night, "Tracy not only inspires me with her enthusiasm, talents and fun, but the world. I have seen her grow from being the Coordinator of the Mooloolaba Chamber of Commerce into being an international award winner (photographer) and motivator to many."

Ms Woolley has been a photographer most of her life, since she was ten years old, and spent hours pouring over equipment with her father in camera shops. But it was when she chose a photography elective during her arts degree in 2005 that she realised it was her passion.  It was a natural progression to move from taking photographs to inspiring others.

Inspire Your Day ~ A Little Book of Inspiration is next to be launched  in Brisbane at the Interactive Publications Gala event on Sunday 29 November at 4MBS Studios, 384 Old Cleveland Rd, Cooparoo at 2pm. It will also be available for purchase and signing at the Interactive Publications Soiree on Friday 27 November at Punjabi Palace, Melbourne St, South Brisbane at 7pm. Melbourne & Sydney launches are set for December.

Fresh Fair 2009

Los Angeles, USA

Australian Woman Photographer WOW's at Elite Exhibition in Los Angeles, USA
Tracy Woolley, international and national award winning Landscape Photographer based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, has just returned to Australia  from Los Angeles, where she was the only Australian photographer, exhibiting at an elite gathering of the world's best photographers at Fresh Fair 2009.

'Fresh Fair' from 24 - 26 April was created by the 'Lucie Foundation' (International Photography Awards) and is a photography fair designed to feature both new & established artists to collectors and gallery representatives from around the world.
It is juried in advance to ensure that quality work is exhibited and that excellent standards are met.

Tracy's exhibit entitled 'This is Australia' invited established artists to collectors and gallery representatives from around the world to take a photographic tour of the land 'Down Under', her home.

"I was so excited to be chosen as the only Australian photographer to be involved. I was in amongst the elite of the photography world, coming from France, England, the United States and even Armenia." says Tracy. "Even more exciting for me was that I was the only photographer in my area of the exhibition that sold my work!. How's that!"

Tracy's work was greatly admired by all and was even considered 'the best' by many onlookers and several of the organisers of the event. An esteemed photographer in the US also 'gave Tracy the nod' in her blog, touting Tracy's "no tricks style panoramas of Australia's landscapes...particularly interesting."

This is not the first time that Tracy's work has been recognised overseas. Tracy won a First Place at the International Photography Awards in September 2008 for her series 'Into the Sea, Mooloolaba'. Tracy travelled to New York in October to attend the awards ceremony.
